IRON SPRINGS MESA 2023
The Iron Springs Mesa Tree Planting was carried out in partnership with the LIDS Foundation, bringing together 27 volunteers to support a large-scale restoration effort across the region. A total of 1,000 trees including aspen, spruce, ponderosa, and fir were planted across five sites within Iron Springs Mesa. This initiative focused on restoring native tree cover and strengthening the resilience of the local ecosystem.
Spanning 2,000 acres and involving five landowners, the project was designed with long-term sustainability in mind. Trees were strategically planted in 50-tree pods, each supported by individualized watering plans to ensure healthy establishment. With a remarkable 99% survival rate, the project stands as a strong example of collaborative land stewardship and thoughtful reforestation planning.
