The Demonstration Forest Project, initiated in 2021 and completed in 2023, was a large-scale collaborative effort focused on long-term ecosystem restoration. In partnership with Tim Erdman and Erdman Energy Enterprises LLC, and in collaboration with LIDS Foundation, Planet Bluegrass, Telluride Foundation, CAASE, San Miguel County, and Seas of Trees, a total of 4,200 trees were planted. This project aimed to restore native landscapes while serving as a model for sustainable reforestation practices in the region.

The success of the project was made possible through the dedication of a diverse group of volunteers. A total of 80 participants, ranging in age from 5 to 55, contributed to the planting efforts, including Telluride Academy campers, community members, and support from Telluride Arborists. Their collective effort reflects the power of community-driven restoration and highlights the importance of engaging people of all ages in environmental stewardship.
