NEPAL SHEELA SHRESTHA'S MEMORY PLANTATION 2025
The Sheela Shrestha Memorial Plantation project in Tinpiple, Tarkeswor Municipality, Nepal brought together students, volunteers, and community members to support both environmental restoration and remembrance. In collaboration with the volunteer group Karuna Sansar, Seas of Trees helped plant 500 trees across degraded slopes, aiming to reduce the risk of future landslides while restoring the health of the landscape.
More than a reforestation effort, the project served as a meaningful tribute led by Sheela Shrestha, transforming a vulnerable hillside into a living memorial. Through the participation of local students and community members, the initiative fostered a sense of connection, resilience, and shared responsibility, creating a lasting impact that honors both the environment and the memory it represents.
